Took a walk through our blocks at Murto Vineyard this morning. We have worked with this vineyard since 1997, and the vines are looking as good this year as I've ever seen them! There is a sizable crop that will doubtlessly need some thinning. We'll look at doing some light leaf pulling to open up the canopy a bit, and then do cluster counts for a first-pass crop estimate. Mike Murto is guessing harvest on September 21st, and he is usually pretty close. If we're able to avoid any protracted heat spells, his prediction should be right on!
